I practice integrative Chinese medicine at the Lotus Center, located in the Mission District of San Francisco. My work with patients focuses on combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle modification. My patients have seen improvements in pain, insomnia, anxiety / depression, stress, eczema, digestive issues, menstrual irregularities, general immunity, energy, and overall feeling of health.
Already decided to pursue a career in the field of healthcare, I was drawn to Chinese medicine after reading an article that described how much time acupuncturists spend with their patients, the observation and touch that goes into acupuncture treatments, and the work that acupuncturists do with their patients over time to make sustainable changes in their lives. It was the path for me.
I hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and an MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM). Clinical experience during my education included internships at the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic, the ACTCM auricular clinic, and the ACTCM community clinic. I was also fortunate enough to work closely with the phenomenal Dr. Jung Kim, DAOM, who focuses his practice on Korean Saam acupuncture treatment. Prior to jumping into the world of Chinese medicine, I earned my BA in Anthropology from Pomona College.
On a more personal note, I am a San Francisco native that is lucky to still call this beautiful, ever-evolving city home – although I have also spent time living in England, Greece and Vietnam. When not treating patients, I love spending time in the forest, going for urban hikes throughout SF, getting my hands dirty in the garden, and baking cookies. And I do most of those activities in cowboy boots.
